Image 1004 – Whiting & Davis (not marked) regular flat mesh child’s purse with two ducks design on the mesh, 3 x 4 1/2. Shirley Temple promoted this purse in the Sears Fall/Winter 1936-1937 catalog where it was advertised for the price of $1.00, which included a mirror with Shirley’s photo on the back. The two ducks motif was taken from the appliqued designs on one of Shirley’s costumes in the 1935 film “Curly Top”.
